Adult Formation
Being Christian and being Episcopalian calls us to a life of prayer, study and action. As we pray and study, we discern God’s call to us to take our faith into the world. The Episcopal tradition is firmly rooted in “Lex orandi, lex credendi, lex vivendi” – roughly translated, Praying shapes believing shapes acting. Imagine a mobius strip where each of these moments leads into the next in an infinite loop of relationship. At Good Samaritan, our Adult Formation program gives people at any stage of their spiritual journey a place to enter into this mobius strip of pray, belief, and action. We often share our formation activities with our Partnership Church, All Saints in the Mountains, Crested Butte. All are welcome to these programs whether you are members of our churches, other churches in the Gunnison Valley, or just passing through.
Summer Formation Coming Soon!
The popular “Summer Saunters” will continue once a month (July through October), along with a variety of other ways to connect, share, and grow together.
Looking for God in the Dark
"Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name." Isaiah 40:26
Join us throughout the summer for an exploration of God in the Darkness. Our summer book study will reflect on Craig Child’s 2025 book “The Wild Dark” and Sarah Harvey’s 2025 Booker Prize winning “Orbital”. We will also have a movie night and a night at the Gunnison Observatory on August 9th. What will you see in the dark? Check back for dates and times.
