Adult Formation

Being Christian and being Episcopalian calls us to a life of prayer, study and action.  As we pray and study, we discern God’s call to us to take our faith into the world.  The Episcopal tradition is firmly rooted in “Lex orandi, lex credendi, lex vivendi” – roughly translated, Praying shapes believing shapes acting.  Imagine a mobius strip where each of these moments leads into the next in an infinite loop of relationship.  At Good Samaritan, our Adult Formation program gives people at any stage of their spiritual journey a place to enter into this mobius strip of pray, belief, and action. We often share our formation activities with our Partnership Church, All Saints in the Mountains, Crested Butte. All are welcome to these programs whether you are members of our churches or other churches in the Gunnison Valley.

Listening for the heart beat of God - June 7th through July 12th

When we listen for the heart beat of God, we discover those places where “our heart’s deep gladness meets the world’s great need.”(Fredrick Buechner). For these six weeks, we will explore our spiritual gifts, ennegram type, spiritual practices for discernment, and where we hear God’s call for each of us. Our time together will offer a combination of fellowship, reflection and worship. Evenings begin at 5:30 at end at 7:30 or later.

aging in grace -Wednesdays, July 19, Aug. 2, Aug. 16 and Aug. 30th

John and Deanna Warren will lead us in a conversation around the theme “Aging in Grace". We will explore the topic through movies, articles, and one or two short (less than 200 pg. books/short stories). Our time together will offer individual sharing and group reflection. We will also share a light potluck supper.
